Information Marketing; Creating & Marketing Information Products That Make Millions
I just finished an amazing teleseminar with Eben Pagen the master of creating Information Products and I am so excited to share this information that I have learned tonight.
As you may know Eben, created a 20 Million dollar company, and runs it virtually - Virtually!
The teleseminar focused on the top techniques that Eben Pagen uses to create information products that sell millions.
Please forgive the messiness of my thoughts below - they were taken down pretty fast during the teleseminar tonight. The main point is that these are the techniques that Eben used to create his first information product, he:
- Picked a good niche
- Had a great mastermind
- Had a good friend who was already doing it and encouraged him to do it
- He figured out how to make Webpages
- Figured out how to manage autoresponders
- Figured out and tested good web copy for his landing pages
- Figured out how to build and grow a good list
And along the way Eben also implemented these proven strategies into his eMarketing plan:
- Started a related newsletter
- Built it organically
- Produced audio/monthly interviews
- Found good places to advertise
- Found good people to partner with to sell the products
Here are some highly important concepts to think about as you try to find the right niche to develop your information product around:
Challenge #1: “BE inside the mind of your customer”
Here are the 2 kinds of people who want to create information products:
Kind #1: Expert: usually someone who knows pretty much everything about the topic. But, they don’t know how to monetize it because they don’t know how to market it effectively.
Kind #2: Non Expert: these people are usually eMarketing savvy but don’t think they are an expert at anything.
News flash to all you non-experts - you don’t have to be an expert to create a hot information product.
If you read “Rich Dad Poor Dad”, you will know that the basic idea here is that it’s “Not about being a subject matter expert (SME), the rich dad was the one with no degree - but who took the time to learn how it all worked.
Most sellers are not SMEs - but they do understand how to market and sell online… Here are a few tips on how you can sell your information product online:
- Interview experts and sell it as an information product
- Most experts don’t know how to market themselves - learn how to market yourself or else hire someone who already knows
- Learn eMarketing techniques
- Learn how to package the information product to sell
In Eben’s “Marketing Vodoo Report” - a 21 page, detailed road map, he educates us on informational product development including how to:
- Package it
- Persuade customers to buy it
- Market it effectively
- Pick a niched niche (niche within a niche)
It will also explain:
- How to ask the right questions
- Find out where the people are looking
- come up with valuable things to give away
- Make sure the people feel that you care
- How to use fundamental marketing techniques
