How To Engage Your Blog Visitors in 2012

As 2012 approaches quickly why not take some time to jot down a plan of action that will help really boost your blogging efforts in this new coming year.

Simply take stock of the main objectives you wish to focus your digital marketing strategy on and brainstorm simple ways in which you can incorporate these goals into your blog.

Ideas IconHere are a few quick examples of strategic blog goals:

1. Increase social sharing: leverage your engaged followers (they are key). Ensure they have something to talk about.
2. Increase conversation: ask your readers what they want to learn. Offer a product and/or service review to your engaged readers. Leverage their interest.
3. Increase subscribers via RSS and/or email: ensure your blog is equipped with a prominent RSS feed icon and that it links to your feed. Make sure you are able to subscribe via email and RSS. Figure out who they are and what they want to read about.

How will you be able to accomplish these goals with limited resources?

Implement these simple yet effective visitor engagement strategies:

* Reorganize your blog to ensure the information your users are looking for is easily accessible.

* Ensure your visitors are the center of your blog (not yourself!).

* Offer valuable content on your blog.

* Have resources that are unique to your business? Perhaps an internal resource or subject matter expert? Leverage these sources for unique content ideas.

Once you take a bit of time to implement these quick strategies you will be well on your way to getting the increased exposure that your blog desires. As you build relationships with your followers and gain their trust, you will also be gaining access to their readers, followers and social savviness.
