Learning Google+ One Day at a Time

Are you into “Connecting with People”?

Whether for personal or business networking purposes the Google+ tool is here to help.

Over the last few years the popular phase, “Facebook me” was quite common. It didn’t matter if it was a college student shouting at their Mom from the car window as they were heading back to the dorm or perhaps a real estate agent that you were using to close the deal on the house of your dreams, it seemed everywhere you went people were talking about “Facebooking”.

Although today it may still seem pretty mainstream, I’d like to predict that a little bit down the road the common phrase may be G+Me or let’s hangout on the G.

So, as a newcomer to Google+ what does that mean?

First let me share this video introduction titled, “What is Google+ (Google Plus) and do I need it?”

Now, how do you feel after watching this video? Still confused? It’s OK I was too. However, it’s the end of the video that really got to me. You see I just happen to be an avid Google fan. I use many Google tools for both personal and business purposes. I use them at home, at work, for learning, for connecting, for teaching and now thanks to Google+ I can use them to hangout with my family who live afar. And this is why Google+ makes me very happy.

I will confess that I am not a Google+ guru by any means of the word. I am just like you, still learning the ropes and trying to learn how I can take full advantage of this new Google tool.

However, I have studied up a bit on search engine optimization and how to climb the Google Ranks. Therefore, I have to pay close attention to how this little social network, created by the owners of the #1 and #2 search engines in the world will effect search. Because inevitably, it will.

Now, take a minute and check out the Google+ Hangouts, this is the tool I use to “hangout” with my family…

So, for me it’s all about learning how to integrate Google+ into my own daily social networking habits first. And in turn, taking what I learn and helping others use this new tool to their advantage as well.

Once I found out that Google+ does not have an official blog, I decided to find all the Google+ employees that I could and them to a circle I created called Google+ employees. It seems that they are the first to share what’s new with Google+, so this is how plan and keeping up to date. The main person I am interested in updates from is +Natalie Villalobos as she is the community manager for Google+.

If you like, you can find me on Google+ and ask me to share my Google+ Employees Circle with you. Share Google+ Circle

Are you already on Google+? If so, please share your link below.

If not, why not? What are your challenges with Google+?
